A gold and black image that says "Happy New Year" with streamers and fireworksHappy New Year!  It’s an exciting time of the year filled with potential and opportunities.  There is so much excitement in the air as we feel the freedom of leaving something behind to launch into something new, fresh and invigorating. There is a renewed sense of possibility and an indomitable spirit ready to take on the world!  This is such an important time to capitalize on the energy and harness it to kick off 2017 as productively as possible. However, before launching into 2017, it’s as equally important to close out 2016.

I’ve talked to Soooooo many people who want to send 2016 off with a “Good Riddance!” and jump into 2017.  If you take that route, you are missing out on a huge opportunity to learn from 2016.  However 2016 turned out for you, it was no accident. Everything that happened was for your highest good, even if it felt like the only purpose was to kick you in the head.  I’m still shaking my head at some of my lessons and there were more than I can count that I didn’t like in the least. I didn’t enjoy many aspects of this year, but I never stopped taking bold action in the directions of my dreams, where I wholeheartedly believed I was meant to be to be on purpose and of service. Perhaps that I’m on the other side of the lessons, I can learn more richly from them.

Now that we are at the finish line, with a sense of starting a new chapter, maybe even a new book, let’s learn from the lessons of 2016 before closing this chapter.  I’ve created a  2016 Closing Ritual and a 2017 Goal Launch work sheet.  It walks you through a series of 10 questions to close out 2017 and 10 more questions to set you up for success as you launch 2017.  Click on this link to obtain the pdf that you can print or download2016 Closing Ritual – Setting 2017 Goals
