Today, we are going to Practice Courage.

The definition of courage is the mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.  An authentic life of purpose requires courage. It requires you to stand up for what you believe, even if it’s unpopular. Especially if it’s unpopular.  It means truly owning your choices and unabashedly living them with no excuses, no justifications and no blame.

Courage gives flight to your dreams.  In fact, it is impossible to cultivate your dreams without courage. You need courage to believe in yourself. You need courage to withstand the naysayers. You need courage to step into unchartered territory so you can learn that which is necessary to bring your dreams to fruition.
a very golorful component of a collage in bold jewel toned colorsHow do you develop courage? It requires practice.  First, get ready to be uncomfortable  as you exercise your bravery muscle. Second, get clear in what you believe in.  Then, ask yourself what you are willing to do to defend what you believe in? Where do you find yourself holding back to protect yourself? Why? What action could you take to exercise courage in the face of your fear?
Practicing courage is not an end result, it’s an ongoing journey. It’s committing to yourself that each and every day, you will step into what you fear, look it in the eye, practice courage and take action.  Start small and grow.  Some days you’ll fail, but you’ll get up and do it again. On most days, you’ll succeed and take yourself to a new level of personal growth and development with a growing ability to take on more audacious dreams and goals and live in pure authenticity. So what action are you willing to take to start practicing courage?
