I’ve been exploring drawing faces in many different ways using different techniques.  One of the artists I admire is Dina Wakley. I have a couple of her books on the topic of art journaling. I’ve never tried art journaling, which is crazy since I love art and I love journaling.  For some reason, I always enjoyed the two separately. I discovered you can combine the two and it brings both to an entirely different level of yumminess. These are my first four attempts at creating art faces in a journal.  I used a couple of my favorite painting journals and started by painting a background.  Then, I drew the face before painting it.  I finished it up by writing in the hair and on the face.  It was liberating to let go of any rules, required techniques and just free-flow with freedom and a dash of courage to play.  I call it a good start.
